Bitter is a desert planet filled with ruins and broken machines left behind after a big interstellar war.

45 years ago, the war suddenly ended when all spaceships crashed onto the planet for unknown reasons. Now, a young salvager named Lukida dreams of escaping this harsh world.

Gameplay Experience

STARBITES is a story-driven RPG set on the devastated planet Bitter, where you play as debris collector Lukida in Delight City, collecting spaceship parts and relics alongside her companions Gwen-Dol and Badger.

Combat is turn-based with attack, skills, guard, items, and escape as your options. All enemies have elemental weaknesses and a barrier that breaks when exploited, causing them to miss turns and take extra damage. Characters also have a DH gauge that powers a special move called Driver’s High, which lets a character immediately perform an attack or skill at any time.

Outside of combat, you explore deserts and walk through towns. Towns have NPCs and shops, while the open deserts use a top-down perspective. Characters fight and travel in vehicles, with Lukida piloting a small mech called a Motorbot.
